Looking For You

An oldie but such a goodie by the one and only Kirk Franklin. For most of us this is very true, we were searching for something to fill that empty space.

Now that I'm changed nothing can keep me away from you!!
Amen!!

I Wish

There was a time when this song told the story of my life. When I listen to it now I look back and see how far I've come. Love is a funny thing.

Superchic[k] was my first taste of Christian rock/pop music and they have changed a lot since I was first introduced to them.
Check you their new sound and new members. superchickonline.com or MySpace.

L❤VE

There is so much happening in the world right now. So much destruction, violence, hate, and conflict. As Christians we are called to love; to spread our love as an example of the way Christ loves.
In best and worst of times LET US LOVE.

Let Us Love© 2012 ChristArt, Inc.

Let us not love in idle words,
that simply roll off our tongues.
Let us love in truthful actions,
and deeds that are left unsung.

Let us not love with conditions,
that requires more of another.
Let us love in a forgiving measure,
bracing and lifting up each other.

Let us not love over factors,
that causes us to clash and fight.
Let us love with assuring hearts,
filled with joy and His delight.

Let us not love in competition,
that causes one to win or to lose.
Let us love with honest declarations,
His truth be in the terms we choose.

Let us not love with a lofty heart,
that brings or puts another down.
Let us love with hope and bold faith,
so others can see the truth we've found.

Let us love with pure, honest deeds,
so our conduct awes and inspires;
another's life to turn to our Lord,
for that is what His heart desires.

Taking Back Toronto 3

A couple of weeks ago I went to Taking Back Toronto 3. An event spearheaded by the newest member of the Role Model Records Family Joel Boogie.
This year it was held at Progress Church of God; to help raise funds to send some of their youth to summer camp WOOT!
The evening was hosted by the lovely Fiana Andrews of Approach to Link (who I finally got to meet in person :) and DJ Lagit was our house DJ keeping our head nodding as the night flowed.
I had a great time; there were singers (Mzz Sarah G), rappers, dancers, spoken word artists (LaMoi) and the Role Model Records family was in full effect with performances by all of their artists (Joel 'Boogie' St.John, Julien, Spoken). I was even lucky loud enough to win Spoken's new CD Bright Days, Dark Nights.

                   A clip of Julien performing

I'll be keeping my ears peeled for Taking Back Toronto 4, and so should you.

Blessings.

Be Bold...Be Big...Be You

Greater is He who is in you, than he that is in the world. Be bold, be big, be YOU.

Gifts & Talents

Todd Vaters is an illustrator and songwriter from Newfoundland. He has always had a love for art and after giving his life to Jesus at 11 years old he has been using his talents to spread the Gospel.
A big part of his ministry is combing his drawing skills with his original music.
Here is This is Love one of the many videos posted on his site.

He is clearly a very talented artist and his videos are very moving.
See and hear more at toddvaters.com.

Don't forget to use your talents, even in the smallest forum.

Heresy!!!

"...Christianity is the main, central, most common, and most thoroughly and purposefully marginalized, obscured, and publicly and privately mis-represented belief system in the final decades of the twentieth century and the opening years of the twenty first."*

I was channel surfing and "happened" to stop on TVO to hear Michael Coren on Steve Paikin's The Agenda, a show that offers in-depth analysis/debate of current affairs.
I've heard Michael Coren a lot, and I MEAN A LOT!!! My Dad always listened to NewsTalk 1010, in the house, car, and in the garden. So Michael has a familiar voice although I have to admit, when I was younger I tuned him out. This time I listened with new ears, grounded Christian ears. I listened to him talk about some Christian beliefs (the reality), and what the world has decided they are (the myth). Michael's new book is called Heresy: Ten Lies They Spread About Christianity
I spend a lot of (frustrating and discouraging) time hearing and seeing the way Christianity is depicted in the media, which a lot of the time is untrue. Ideals are twisted, sensationalized, and misrepresented to create separation, guilt, and fear. It's frustrating when it comes from the world but infuriating when it comes from "Christians".
A friend of mine once told me "Being a Christian is deceptively easy." I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!. Giving your heart to God is the first step and of course the easiest of many to come. Hold strong, press on, don't be discouraged or moulded by what people have decided you are. Be the true light God has called you to be. Encouraging peace and understanding, with patience.
I digress... take some time to watch this video, hear the author challenged on his views (which may be yours), as they kindly agree to disagree. If you're intrigued read the book and let me know what you think.

Blessings!
